The Cubitt Motor Car. Did you know that a car was Built in Aylesbury? Well there was and it was The Cubitt Motor Car . It was built between 1919 and 1925 in Bicester Road .It was marketed as “the right car at the right price” and “the Worlds best car” and was £442 .

It wasn’t a great success and only 3000 were built. There is and example of one at the Buckinghamshire Museum in Aylesbury Town Centre which was found in 1972 in Australia by an Aylesbury Man. Link to the museum is here
It was built by the Cubitts Engineering Co by Thomas Cubitt who also built the Cenotaph, Covent Garden and the east wing of Buckingham Palace.
